We are just back from Summer Camp at Chigwell Row this year! We had a fab time, the sun shone all week, and was very kind to us. It was a pirates of the Carribean theme, and we did abseiling, climing, crate stacking, grass sledging, pedal go-karting and went in the splash pool. We also did a treasure hunt, made friendship bracelets, tie dyed bandaners and had a pirate party.
We had a hard shelter on our site, were near the toilet block, and there were hot showers. It was only for a few days, but we had a great time. We didn't want to come home!
It you weren't there, you should speak to someone who was to hear all about it ..... and get your name down for next year so you don't miss out on all the fun.
Back in 2007, we held a simple one night overnight camp at Haverings, our local Guide Training Centre on Friday 1st June for girls who had eother never camped before, or who are unable to join us in the summer, to come along for a bit of fun, and to get a taster of camp ..... It was a great night away - the weather was glorious, 3 groups built and stayed the night in Bivouacs for their BP awards .... 2 of them even stayed up all night .... and all of the girls got their Outdoor Cook badge
